Summer Updates

Dear Terraces families and friends-

As summer gets into full swing, I have some updates to share.

As you may or may not know, the Terraces and other licensed communities in California, are overseen by the state Department of Social Services (DSS). In an effort to make sure assisted living communities don’t get ahead of themselves on the loosening of COVID restrictions, they are requiring a return to two residents per table at mealtimes. Your loved ones are aware and are very understanding and supportive.

A special note to those residents whose medications we manage; DSS is now requiring that all over the counter (OTC) medications are accompanied by a doctor’s order and corresponding labeling of the bottle. This is effective immediately, so please make arrangements with your loved ones’ doctors right away. Our in-house provider, Yorba Linda Pharmacy, will provide this service without interruption to delivery of those medications. They take almost all insurance (including VA and Kaiser) and have promised competitive pricing on OTC meds. If you’d like to continue to purchase your OTC’s from Costco, CVS, Rite Aid, etc., you’ll need to make sure the doctor sends them an order and your provider must affix a label to the bottle. If you choose to go forward with Yorba Linda Pharmacy, we can walk you through the necessary steps.  We’re sorry for any inconvenience this might cause, but we are required to follow DSS guidelines under Title XXII.

On a positive note, our Activities Department has been working on overdrive to create some truly unique and fun programs for your loved ones, video and photos of which can be found on Facebook and Instagram
