COVID & QUARANTINE UPDATES

Dear Terraces families and friends-

I’m sorry to report that an additional 3 residents and 1 employee have tested positive for Covid. Two of the residents are asymptomatic and the other is only experiencing mild symptoms. All three are on quarantine. The employee is asymptomatic and is at home on quarantine. We will continue weekly mass testing until we have 2 consecutive weeks with no positive results. 

New guidelines from the CDC and LA County Department of Public Health call for a 5 day quarantine, after which the resident (or employee) will be tested again. As long as they test negative AND have been fever free (without fever reducing medications) for 24 hours AND have no symptoms or existing symptoms are improving, their quarantine period is considered completed. If not, the quarantine period is 10 days (meaning, an additional 5 days). 

The good news is that the current strain, while highly contagious, is not nearly as severe as previous strains.
